Who We Are

As an active duty military family founded foundation, we know first hand AND have experienced the benefits of Animal Activities and its .

With over 14 years of experience in providing our beneficial, interactive, educational and empowering animal activities for the cities we are natives to; the Las Vegas & Henderson Nevada community. #vegasstrong

We are Proud to announce that we are certified in Animal Assisted therapy & activities through Phil Arkow certification program to help humans and Equine/animal massage therapist certified to help animals.

What do we provide to our community?

The Barnyard Foundation has three powerful purposes:

Animal Sanctuary, Welfare and protection services: Dedicated to providing a safe home at our private facility & animal sanctuary for rescued - retired- rehabilitated farm animals in need. These animals may have been abused, unable to re-locate with their previous family to another state or abandoned by their owners as a result of economic hardship such as a home foreclosure, loss of employment, insufficient income or death and illness.

Animal Assisted Activities (Therapeutic): providing innovative, empowering and healing Therapeutic animal-assisted activities (AAA) to people of all ages and backgrounds. Our animal program(s) include certified animal therapists to assist and help those in need; such as veterans (think PSTD or a physical disability), children with Autism & special needs, senior citizens with Alzheimer and dementia. It is scientifically proven that animal therapy works and makes a difference!

Learn & Explore: Enhancing educational, interactive and hands-on barnyard animal activities for schools, churches, day care centers and other educational based programs. Unfortunately, the majority of our city’s residents are at a disadvantage as over 60% of our community’s children & adults have never been able to experience or interact with farm life up close and personal. The Farming and agricultural culture is disappearing.

Our beneficial based learning programs aim to help our youth learn to read or paint in a non-judgmental environment such as reading to a bunny rabbit or painting with a no-drama Llama makes learning and the arts more fun. Afterall, animals don’t judge or bully a child like other humans regrettably can do. Plus children learn more about the animals themselves!

Our programs offer an opportunity for connection, compassion, play, and healing for those suffering with both physical and emotional pain. Supporting the Barnyard Foundation through donations - booking our programs/services or sharing our information on social media and word of mouth is a beautiful way to ensure that all the many animals in our care have what they need to thrive, and the people we serve can reap the benefits of animal-assisted activities.

What is Animal Assisted Activities you may ask?

Great Question; According to animaltherapy.net "Animal-Assisted Activities (AAA) provide opportunities for motivational, educational, therapeutic and/or recreational benefits to enhance quality of life. AAA are delivered in a variety of environments by a specially trained professional, paraprofessional, and/or volunteer in association with animals that meet specific criteria. These are generally the basic short meet-and-greet sessions of pets visiting people in a hospital, long-term care center, etc. The same activity can be repeated with many people.

Our organization impliments Therapeutic Animal Assisted Activities into each program. These activities encourages beneficial skills to develop, whether through the use of an equestrian during a horsemanship program or utilizing the farm animal assistance , for the purpose of each participant to receive support related to that individual’s impairment and inspires a positive response to the cognitive, physical, emotional and social well-being of individuals who are “differently-abled”.

OUR PLEDGE

“I pledge to be kind and to care about my global community”

In a rapid-paced world driven by technology, people and families have lost touch with not only themselves, but each other and the living creatures that partake in our shared environment. You can’t show compassion toward an issue, person, place or creature if they aren’t present on your heart and mind. As you may see by viewing our website, The Barnyard Foundation has many concerns about helping people and animals; we believe that in helping even ONE PERSON and ONE CREATURE, we are making a beneficial difference that will create a chain reaction to promote a positive betterment on our global community.

The Barnyard Foundation pledge is to inspire all of us to CARE! Care about ourselves, someone, each other, our planet, the animals who share it with us and to do the actionable thing(s) that show kindness. The Barnyard Foundation’s outreach, activities and support programs encourage people to care about the natural world around them. This work is one small part towards global caring and kindheartedness. Together, let’s start by taking just one small step towards compassion and becoming considerate in our own way, our global community would be more meaningful, and the World could be a better place.

The Barnyard Foundation encourages the POSITIVE & NATURAL relationship, A BOND, between animals and humans. Through acts of kindness and caring we can promote comfort and calmness.

Together, lets reconnect bonds that have been broken and reintroduce the love of animals through the kindness of ourselves. Petting a goat, hugging lamb, playing with a cuddly bunny, brushing a horse and feeling unconditional APPRECIATION that animals express by kindness and caring is PRICELESS and HEALING.
